I woke up feeling much better after that day of altitude sickness, so I convinced Mom to zoom into our yoga class with Chill Yoga, then to go for a walk with Dad. It's pretty hot here, but we did venture out into Old Town Scottsdale and the Shops at 5th Avenue. Mom used the BringFido app and found the best place to have lunch on a 108 degree day: Diego Pops. The patio was completely shaded and had cool misters blowing, and the waitress brought me a whole bowl of ice. Mom had some drink called a Drop It Like It's Hot Margarita, but she said it was not for puppies. Then Mom treated us to a visit to The Sugar Bowl, which she says is her favorite ice cream place in the world. (And if you could see how many ice cream places Mom has visited, you'd realize what a compliment this is.)
We spent the hottest part of the day at our air-conditioned retreat, the Scottsdale Plaza Resort and Villas. We decided to eat at JD's Lounge at the resort....and Dad had the greatest surprise of his life. It seems the Vegas Golden Knights are on site celebrating their Stanley Cup win - and they let Dad into their party to get a photo with THE STANLEY CUP.
